Cookie and Local Storage Policy

In short: this website places no cookies, uses no traffic analytics tools, has no embedded social media buttons and does not track you across websites. The only information saved in your browser is two strictly necessary preferences, which remain on your device and are not transmitted to us.

For this reason you will not see, on your first visit, a banner asking you to accept cookies. This is not an omission, but the consequence of there being nothing for us to ask you about. This page explains exactly what is stored, on what basis, and what would change if we were ever to activate an analytics tool.

1. Cookies, localStorage and why both matter

A “cookie” is a small text file that a website writes onto your device and that the browser automatically sends back with every subsequent request to that website. “localStorage” is another storage mechanism in the browser: the information stays on the device and is not automatically sent anywhere.

The consent rule does not concern cookies alone, but any storage of, or access to, information in the user's terminal equipment. That is why we have also inventoried below what we save in localStorage, even though these are not cookies.

2. What this website actually saves

The list is complete. If you find in your browser anything attributed to avocata.md that does not appear here, please let us know.

Both values are written and read exclusively by your browser. They are not transmitted to us, we cannot read them and they do not allow us to identify you or to track you. By deleting them, all you lose is your theme preference.

3. Why we do not ask for your consent

In the Republic of Moldova, confidentiality in the electronic communications sector is governed by the Law on electronic communications no. 241/2007, and the processing of personal data — by Law no. 195/2024. The consistent practice is for visitors to be asked for their consent before cookies are placed.

Consent is, however, required for storage that is not strictly necessary — principally for analytics, advertising and tracking cookies. The two values above are strictly necessary: one carries out a choice that you yourself made explicitly (the theme), and the other protects the form against automated submissions, that is, it ensures the security of a service you have requested.

A consent banner with nothing to block would be asking you for a formal acceptance with no object. We preferred to tell you clearly what happens and not to add a pointless click.

4. What changes if we ever activate an additional tool

The website is prepared for two components which, as at the date of this version, are not activated. If either of them is activated, we update this page and, in the case of traffic analytics, we automatically activate a prior consent mechanism.

Traffic analytics (Plausible)

It would show how many people visit each page. Plausible does not use cookies and does not create persistent identifiers, but it is a tool that is not strictly necessary. For that reason, if it is activated, the website will first display a consent request, and the script will load only after your acceptance, with the possibility of changing your mind at any time.

Anti-bot verification of the form (Cloudflare Turnstile)

It would appear only in the contact form and would serve exclusively to distinguish a person from an automated program. Being a security measure for a service that you yourself request, it falls within the strictly necessary category; we will nevertheless mention it explicitly here and in the Privacy Policy, including the fact that it involves transmitting your IP address to Cloudflare, Inc. (United States).

5. How you control what is saved

You can delete at any time whatever this website saves, from your browser settings — usually under “Privacy and security” → “Cookies and site data”. Deleting it does not in any way affect your access to the content or your ability to write to us.

You can also block storage entirely for this domain. The website remains fully functional: you will see the default theme on every visit, and the form will continue to be protected by the checks carried out on the server.
